Thanks to all that responded to my question on a reasonable MPG that I asked yesterday. From what everyone said I will assume that should be in the range of 17-21 MPG depending on driving conditions. This then brings up the question of what I should expect in the way of a sustainable cruising speed on a '68 bus with the standard transmission setup. Assuming that I would be traveling on good roads in mostly flat to medium hill conditions. Any comments on this? A second question on this post is about the "freeway" transmission (or transaxle) setup that I have heard mentioned a few times. What is the story on this? Is it some type of "overdrive" modification? Or is it something else entirely? Thanks again, Route 66 Rider! Ramon Hill Live Long and Be Free ====================================
