It is not uncommon for long backorders to occur on South African parts, and
this has happened once or twice with these grills. But that is normal for SA
parts and does not necessarily mean they are discontinued. There are often
strikes and other disruptions in SA that can cause supply chain disruptions.
Last I heard (and I'm basing this on what customers told me, so I could be
wrong), Gowesty etc. had been sold out of these for quite some time, which
may have given rise to this NLA rumour (which circulated on the list a
couple of months ago as well).  However even while this rumour was
circulating, I received a shipment of them. (I import them myself; I don't
believe Gowesty does.)  Unfortunately I sold them all (faster than I
expected, since apparantly no one else had any) and my next container isn't
until sometime in the fall, so now it will be a while. Of course they could
always get discontinued tomorrow and make a liar out of me, but as of now my
sources tell me they are not. Incidentally, mine still come with silver
emblems, not black.
