to put this in more anglo-centric measures (based on 1 gallon = 4.55  
litres and 1 mile = 1.61 kilometres):

1.9L TDI:--25.7 to 35.3 mpg (avg 29.7 mpg)
V6 TDI: ---21.7 to 28.2 mpg (avg 24.6 mpg)
