I can corroborate some of Chris' post (below). I have a 90 "non-GL" syncro
sitting in my driveway that has
AC
PW
PL
Cruise
PM
but with rest is the "non-GL" (or base model) trim:
black steel bumpers with rub strips
fixed (non-opening) front door vent windows
gray tweed (rather than velour) seats
rear-facing jumpseats
rear bench folds into bed
wall-to-wall rubber mats rather than carpet
plain metal dash (padding only along the front, no raised section)
no light over glove box
door panels with no chrome or fabric inserts, no map pocket
Cheers,

-there are plenty of 89 syncro passenger vans out there with all of the
above.
- '89 syncro passenger vans were the "top of the line" as far as options..
-'87 was also possible to have all of the above. 86 syncros could be
ordered
-with the above, but not likely.
-90-91 syncro passenger vans were all "NON-GL" vans, so theyre pretty
spartan..(though i have seen non-GL syncros optioned out with all of the
above)
-
-id look for a '89 GL syncro passenger van and swap your wolfsburg interior
into it.
