I removed the belt for the AC compressor today, since I had thought
that the AC compressor was making lots of noise.  Turns out the growl
is still there.  Closer inspection reveals that it might be the
alternator or power steering pump.  It's a noise that slowly builds
in volume and fades, with pulsing regularity.  Kind of like a
TARDIS.  Seriously.

I do know that my power steering system needs work... it is leaking...

Does anyone have any insights?
