on my regular gl i had a few years back, i made curtains for them. i found that two methods worked well. the firts being a bungee cord to string them up. it is elastic enough so there is no sag like there would be using a cord or some sort. this can be mounted by taping the ends of the bungee and then screw a bolt thru the taped ends and mounting that to the inside of the van where you want it to go to hold up the curtains. it is pretty crude but will work. the second method is by the use of button snaps. this method is even used on westies to hold up the front curtain. IMHO this is a better method because it looks nicer, less invasive, and easy removed for storage. go to michaels and buy button snaps. Mount one side to the curtain and mount the other side to the inside of van and voila, snap on curtains. good luck jason 87 syncro westy so many roads to ease my soul... >From: Jeff Lincoln <magikvw@GMAIL.COM> >Reply-To: Jeff Lincoln <magikvw@GMAIL.COM> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Curtains >Date: Fri, 8 Sep 2006 13:08:49 -0400 > >This may seem like an elementary question but here goes anyway.
