There are several campgrounds less than an hour drive of Allentown.
However my favorite is a bit further away, Hickory Run State Park
(about 1 hour 15 minutes by the PA Turnpike.)

Access to the area near Chris is quite convienent from North, South
East and West

If I skip John Brown's Buses (something I'm likely to do, because I'm
pretty sure the campground is too close to the Railroad track) I
should be able to come north which ever weekend.
