Sounds just like a box I have, only I didn't have to build mine. Got a good
hinged lid, sturdy carrying handles. Mine sits aft of the driver's seat,
though I could move it if I want - but it's good for helping climb up into
the top, and can double as a seat. Holds lots of non-refrigerated foods.
If I want to put refrigerated foods in it, I can, though, 'cause it's
insulated, too. Just have to add a block of ice.

Mine's called a cooler!

:::Probably my favorite camping accessory is the wooden 'pantry box' I
:::built.
:::It's got a hinged lid and a couple of sturdy carrying handles screwed to
:::the sides. It usually sits just aft of my passenger seat, so it works as
:::a
:::footrest when the passenger seat is swivelled around to face the rear.
:::This
:::also puts it right at the door, so I can get at the stuff I need
:::throughout
:::the day without climbing all the way into the camper.
:::
:::I've always envied the storage bins on the inside of the side doors of
:::the
:::splittie campers; this gives me a lot of that benefit. I can easily load
:::all my non-refrigerated foods for a weekend in there, and carry that
:::stuff
:::in/out of the camper in one shot (thus preventing me from keeping food in
:::the westie cabinets to get too old or attract mice between campouts).
