there are four small 8mm bolts that hold these on each side.   two are
accessable thru the hinge bolt holes once the door is removed, the other two are
not.   in fact the only way to remove the other 2 bolts is with a flex joint
extension, as theyre hidden behind the lip of the front clip.  this is on a 90
vanagon i have here with the door off..  maybe other years use a different amount
of bolts.. not sure.   anyway i gave up removing them as i couldnt get at the
heads for the other two bolts.
