As to the Zetec, I had a 2001 Ford Zx2 S/R that was very good. Never had any problems with it. If anyone is interested in that type of swap, check out "ZX2 S/R" under Google or some such. It has several factory hi-po options. Route 66 Rider! Actually I forgot this came up. If you can find the guys who's daughter blew the head gasket, I bet you $100 that is was a SOHC SPI ford 2.0L engine. Not only do they blow head gaskets, but I swapped an engine for a customer with You know, you are absolutely right! That was my comment (that a guy told me this) and one comment from one person is not enough to condemn an engine. I have no idea, too, how his daughter drove the vehicle or it's maintenance history. Another guy was also talking about how bad Subaru engines are, and, well, read the Subaru/Vanagon list and you'll find quite a different opinion. Now, this guy's son has a Touareg that he just LOVES. I have another friend who just got rid of a Touareg and he says it was the worst piece of crap he's ever owned. Jeff
