And let me just add that Daryl sold me a rebuilt 4 speed
last summer and it has not given me one bit of trouble,
noise, weirdness, or bad karma since it was installed.  Nice
to have one thing to not worry about.

I delived 4 vanagon trannies to Daryl on Friday and
hung out with him for the day and watched him overhau
my syncro tranny. Wow, like a machine. His shop is
well organized, clean and well equipped.  His tranny
overhaul area is a separte "sterile" area that was
built for this purpose. I also got to peak into Tom
Sinclair's tranny with all of the new shiny parts.
wow.

He also makes a wicked cherry mocha with his
commercial in-shop espresso maker. why of course!

I would not ever hesitate to ship or drive a tranny to
him. pmail me if you want more details. he does all
vw, porsche, audi manual trannies.  He stocks a lot of
parts so if you have a gear hanging out the side of
your case he can probably get you back on the street.
