Hey folks I need some advice here because this sounds fishy. I have a 1.8LGolf engine and I supposedly sold it on EBay. The buyer used the "Buy It Now" feature and ended the auction. I tried contacting the buyer and received no replies - later I noticed that the buyer was no longer a registered EBay member. Naturally I was disappointed and a bit ticked. So I sent him a not so nice e-mail and re-posted the item on EBay. End of story right? Not quite, today I received the following e-mail from him: HI, My client did send the payment as promised. Regarding shipping right, you are not responsible for that OK. He enclosed with the payment as instruction on how to contact the shipper who will take care of the shipping aspect. All his info and how to contact him is enclosed with the payment. After getting across to him he will get back to you with the time and date for the pick up of the item in your garage, a convenient time for both parties, so is more or less a local pick up. Mind you it was mail by regular mail. The payment should be with you in matter of days if there is no delay in your state postal delivery. Get back to me immediately you receive the payment. It should be with you on Monday or Tuesday to the best of my knowledge. Best regard I haven't seen payment yet but we will see. I have ended the auction just in case. Does this sound scamish to any of you? I mean I guess there is no harm so far either I receive payment and he comes and gets the engine or I don't and I re-post it - but it is all so weird. Especially the no contact and then unsubscribing from EBay. Is there something I'm missing here? Should I be on the look out for some trouble? Any thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated. -- Thanks, Jeff 90' Carat (It's Blue, It's Beautiful, It needs a lot of work) 86' (Soon to be donating organs to the 90') 85' GL (sidelined but to be resurrected in the near future)
