Right after I sent the last message, I decided to check whether the brights
would work today (they didn't last night) and they DID... briefly... and
then stopped.

So it COULD be the combination of using the old switch & a fried relay?
hmm... don't know.

It looks as if I'll have to wait until a new switch arrives from an online
vendor.

Still looking for advice & help, though!
