Folks, you can clean the DOT headlights with windex (remove the headlight from the vehicle, pour some Windex (or equivalent) in, slosh it around, and empty it out...let air dry before re- installing.) You can add relays. You can put higher wattage (illegal for street use) bulbs in, add improved grounds and you STILL haven't dealt the problem. The DOT rectangular headlights do a poor job of light distribution. They scatter the light in to places that are not useful for you the driver. The Eurospec headlights are one possible solution. Round headlights are another. Adding Projektzwo foglights was my original solution (illuminates the road right in front and really does help vehicles with DOT rectangular headlights). You might object to spending several hundred dollars for one of these solutions. But if you are traveling at night and can't see, you are risking a lot more than a couple of hundred bucks.
