Sam,
As it is Thanksgiving, I don't have too much time, so apologies for short message...
Most of the Sierra passes are open currently (even Highway 4 was open yesterday,
afterr being closed for a few days. If you decide to come through one of the passes,
check the following (updated hourly);
http://www.dot.ca.gov/hq/roadinfo/Hourly
There are storms forecast from Sunday onwards, which may close some of the passes
for the winter (4, 120). The others (88, 50, 80) will be kept open.
If you do take I-40, be sure to stop in Death Valley - it's amazing!
Look forward to seeing you sometime soon in Palo Alto (where you will see Westy's
in all neighbourhoods).

Subject: NYC to Palo Alto CA

This Saturday Nov. 25th we will set off to make the journey fron NYC to Palo
Alto California hauling my much-travelled white 1984 Westy behind a 16ft
yellow Penske truck . I plan to travel west from the George Washington
Bridge on I-80 to south on I-81 to west on I-40 to west on Rte 58 to north
on Rte 99 to west on Rte 152 to north on I-101 to Palo Alto. Any unusual
sights to be seen along the way or a better way to go?

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Sam
