That's mighty odd. Have you checked the wiring on your 88? There
should be 3 wires going to the outside lights, and one of those
should go to the inner lights (which has 2 wires) . Perhaps you have
outer bulbs where the hi-beam filament is burnt out, but the low beam
filament is working.
