If you can't find a good shop locally, I wouldn't chance it.  Have it
shipped (cheaper than towing).
I just shipped my Vanagon from Idaho to Michigan for $850 (running however).

This company was TOP NOTCH and quick service.

A new member on the diesel list is in a bad situation with a blown
diesel vanagon left at a place in Franklin, TN called Wursters. It
doesn't have a good rep on Larry's shop list. I'm not even going to
quote you what they want for an engine swap.

Anyway, I'm trying to figure out some way to help this guy, and a lot
of what he needs is a better vanagon resource in the Nashville area
or to have the car towed to Huntsville, Alabama where I can help him.

Can anybody help with either?
