Mine has separated from the muffler on the passenger side bracket which is likely over-stressing the driver's side bracket. Question number two: Is there some advice on how to repair this either on the vehicle or removing it.... is a beefier bracket going to help or is the thin nature of the original there to allow some movement unlike the factory brackets. If welding is involved, which type of welding wire/rod should be used with this type of stainless steel? Thanks in Advance, DM&FS Max, as you may have forgotten the STEBRO/Vanagon Stainless Steel Muffler has a Lifetime Warranty > _STEBRO PSD Ltd. Guarentee_ (http://members.aol.com/Fkc43/stebrogt.htm) . You should immediately contact Dan Petschenig of STEBRO at 888-878-3276 -_sales@stebro.net_ (mailto:-sales@stebro.net) and explain the problem of the brackets. There have been a few of those brackets which have broken in the past and about one year ago the brackets were re-designed and all new STEBRO/Vanagon 2.1 Stainless Steel Mufflers now come with these new brackets. What will be done in your case is STEBRO will ship you a set of the new brackets and reimburse you for the local welding on of the new brackets. This will save you the time of shipping your muffler to STERBRO and having them repair it and shipping it back to you. Meanwhile, you can have any good welding shop familiar with the welding of stainless steel tack weld the cracked bracket either installed or off depending on the access to the crack and the ability of the welder. If you have any problems reaching Dan at STEBRO please contact me at once, 613-256-6763 - _Fkc43@aol.com_ (mailto:Fkc43@aol.com) !
