I sometimes use a pet barrier. I have a commercial one that works fine as long as I'm in the Westy with them but they move the bars and go forward if I leave them alone at all. The bars are adjustable. I suppose I could drill and screw them in place. I made one using plastic lattice (like some folks use for skirting around a porch or a house) by cutting it to fit and securing it behind the rear seat. So far, it works well. I first made one out of wood lattice but they ate it. My boxer weighs 125 lbs and the Lab/Shepherd weighs 70.
