I used to be able to buy phosphate-free anti-freeze from Canadian Tire. They no longer sell it. I actually talked to a guy at the parts counter who was a VW guy and knew exactly what I was talking about --- and he raved on about how he didn't know what to do either. What are you other Canucks doing for Vanagon anti-freeze?? Doug, don't hate yourself let that up to us ! Your guy at Canadian Tire doesn't have a clue. Prestone Longlife and Haveoline both available at Canadian Tire are phosphate free. NAPA's Supreme Extended Longlife is also Phosphate free. Then you have can have HEPU available from shops like me who work on German cars and VW brand from VW dealers.
