What's frustrating for those of us with online businesses (or any other business, for that matter) is that the customer, who has no reputation to uphold, can rant as he or she will, and other people online will actually listen. Internet rants are on the level of graffiti in terms of commitment. There's no fact checking possible, yet a lot of people automatically side with the consumer rather than the business. The situation is inherently unbalanced, and that's why so many people here attempted to support the vendor. The original ranter's intentions were not good. He was not trying to save other listees from making a mistake, even though that's what the title of his rant implies. There's no altruism here. His intention was not even to obtain a refund; he could have done that privately. His intention was to infict damage.
