Before reconditioning my under dash A/C I had dreamt of combining the heater box with the A/C and making it all one unit. This would have been ideal. I even still have hopes of feeding the A/C cold air into the heater box, but I fear that may be a lost cause as well. I would say your unit has quite a bit of value. They're rare and fit where an A/C unit should be. Under the dash. Before I did my engine swap and was still running on a air cooled engine I had thought of removing it and selling it as well. Even had people willing to come over and remove it for me. I really glad I didn't do it now. So - I moved the ducts out of the way, and the radio is where it belongs. Some cold air still comes out, but with global warming making our winters warm and our summers cold, who needs it? By the way - is there enough value in the AC system that it would be worth it for me to remove and sell it? thanks, Ron A -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Ryan Miller Sent: Thursday, January 25, 2007 8:31 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: alt stereo intall All, I've got an issue with my current stereo location. It stinks. Since I've got the under dash A/C unit the normal in dash location for the stereo is consumed by vents, so the stereo was placed facing the ceiling in front of the stick shift. This has worked ok, but with time the holder has cracked and now it's time to figure out a new solution. Seems an ideal solution would be a way of mounting it where the ashtray. Has anyone come up with solution? Ryan '82 camper van 'Beethoven'
