No, you shouldn't leak power steering fluid and yes, it will cause a rainbow
pattern on wet pavement like any oil based liquid.
The gasoline smell at fill up is a common problem. BTDT. The fix is just a
few dollars worth of parts but the bad news is that the gas tank must be
dropped to replace the leaking hoses and grommets and that is somewhat labor
intensive.
