Sudhir, I can't say i have any racing experience, per se, but these are vanagons, so i hope that isn't a requirement. I would agree with what you are saying if vanagons were anywhere near locking up tires (i personally own the worst braking vanagon - the early model westy). However, since the majoirity of them aren't near that threashold on dry pavement, additional braking power (just before the point of locking up) can only reduce your stopping power. If you frequently find yourself in very slippery conditions, then you need to think about brake balance more. Then again, stock brakes would be sufficient. Having said all that, a balanced brake system is obviously a good thing. There are equations out there in the web if you want to calculate a starting point, or at least educate yourself on the dynamics and relationsips of braking. -Damon --- Sudhir Desai <sudhir.desai@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > Either Tom, > Will you be considering a larger rear brake setup as > well? > I don't think it is very safe to have an unbalanced > braking system, > and would definitely recommend checking one out if > you haven't. > (people with more than limited racing experience, > please chime in :D ) > sudhir > > On 3/4/07, Tom Sinclair <neeemo@yahoo.com> wrote: > > I have the Smallcar kit on a Syncro.
