looks like the auto trans of my '87 Van GL 2.1L is sticking and won't go in forward gears anymore.

do you have some recommendations for auto trans rebuilders? or should I get a rebuilt one straight up? or get a used one (with the risk that entails)? or perhaps even get a manual trans put in instead?
