I just installed a new J-pipe in my 1.9, just this week. It comes with
grey paint. I think it did heat up and burn off a bit.I think I smelled it
more than anything else.New headers come with grey paint,too.Did you put
gaskets between the new headers and heads? If the j-pipe burnt the paint
off, the entire length of header should burn the paint,too.Maybe a bit of
wd-40 is burning off?
