I can't say as I did not get up to that speed/rpm.

I'm thinking:

02 sensor or fuel pump relay. I'm about to go outside and disconnect the 02
and see what happens though the consistency of the condition makes me think
more like fuel pump relay.

When the rpms dive, the engine is essentially not firing at all and giving a
pathetic "phfffthffhtt, pffhththf, pffhthtfh."
