Sorry to have so many questions, I just bought a 86 GL with 24,000 original miles, so I am getting it back to perfect!!

#1 The sliding door locking mechanism's spring is weak and supporting the upper jaw. (So it takes some force to open the door). Is it easier to get just the spring or replace the entire mechanism?

#2 Did this model come with automatic door locks or is that a before August/ after August question I need to find out first?  Here is what happens, when I turn the key in the driver door, it does not open all the other doors.
