Good morning,

I have an 86 that started as  a GL and is slowly becoming my own creation.  This is about my 10th van, so I am being fairly careful as I do my modifications.  But one thing has kinda bugged me from the first day I drove it..that clock in the instrument cluster.  What is up with a 6" diameter clock, right in your face?  Anyhow, mine has lately become erratic, sometimes losing time when the van isn't running, so I have an excuse to perhaps replace it with a Tach, if that is possible.  I understand that some vanagons have one in place of that silly clock...(you can get a tiny little stick-on clock for a few bucks at Mall-Wort if you really need another timepiece in your life...)  Am I correct in thinking I might be able to swap in a Tach for that clock, without too much trouble?  And where might I find one, if anyone has any hints, I'd be grateful..
