Is this:

the correct postion for the upper end of return spring?

Or should it be at the "Or here" position?

I put pedal cluster together, and saw that end of spring was at the
"Or here" position.

Not sure if it was that way before I took it apart.

I don't want to stress the spring, but where it is now, looks correct.
