I've never been a doom and gloom person before, but I truely believe this
circuit city lay-off is a tip of the ice berg. And having been a union
member once and watching the unions around me, I absolutely don't believe
union dues are spent wisely, nor do most union reps have good negotiating
skills. Union pension funds are notorious for huge losses to the bosses.

I just think this country is in for it financially. There are too many
folks at the upper end and too many middle class well educated folks out of
work. Too much emphasis is spent on skewing numbers by our pres to try to
convince us everyone is better off than they were a few years back... way
back. I am really worried about what kind of life our kids will have and
how will they ever dig themselves out of this mess. Madeline
