RE: Responding pmail instead of to the list......
This thread is about the third time this week that someone has posted a good
question and list members responded off list with good answers.  That's
great but defeats a major part of the reason the list exists, sharing
information.  On non-Vanagon stuff a response off list, to the originator
only, is good list etiquette But when it's a Vanagon technical question
there are probably several people that the question attracted and are
waiting for an answer.  Not replying on the list also keeps the answer out
of the Archives.  We so often see "Search the archives" in answer to a
commom question but if there is no answer in the archives, only questions,
then that is little help.
BTW, this is not an attack on those that respond off list, just pointing out
that there may be more than one person waiting for an answer.
