Evan, They are indeed different. I have some rudimentary calculations illuminating such on my website. All things being equal and substituting the1.9L heads on a 2.1L long block; I arrived at an increase of compression ratio to 9.5:1 from 9.0:1 . YMMV. Enjoy.
