I think the metric size is 10mm, but I've never had leak troubles
using standard US 1/8" pipe thread fittings(brass) from NAPA or other
vendor and putting red or blue loctite on the threads(cleaning the
female block threads with solvent and a stiff tooth brush.
.....but then I've never intended to re-install the factory OP switch
in the block hole either. YMMV

Hi Nate:
They both (head and oil filter mounts) are 10mm but when you
buy aftermarket senders ( e.g. VDO) they offer 1/8 NPT and 10mm
senders. The 1/8" NPT fits with no problem. Just tighten
accordingly.
Any T-adaptors are likely to also be 1/8 NPT unless you ask.
Good Luck!

I appreciate all your help, you answered my question!
OK, so when I buy a VDO sender I can choose for the 10mm. Didn't see any pipe fittings @ Mcmaster Car in 10mm. Sounds like from everyones experience 1/8 NPT works good, and is close enough.
Thanks guys!!
