You're welcome. The idea of heat doesn't sound silly... the worry
there however is that it might allow the pins set into the plastic
(outer fasteners) might be able to pull out of the grill, which
wouldn't be nice.

One thing about the German grills... they were brittle plastic
(styrene or ABS) and could be glued if they broke. The RSA upper
grill is something else... could probably be plastic-welded if it
split, but the textured finish would be impossible to match.
