I'm thinking the leak looks like a mixture of oil and coolant due to heavy grease and road grime that has built up on the original block over the last 20 years. It just looks too watered down to be oil. Thought #2> Is it in the same spot as the other two times? There could be a problem with the head bolt in that spot i.e. stretching due to rust. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richards, Andrew" <Andrew.Richards@NIKE.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Wednesday, May 30, 2007 6:41 PM Subject: [VANAGON] head-aches Hey All, My '87 GL may have sprouted its third passenger side head gasket leak in 30K miles...... .....What seems to be a mix of oil and coolant is dripping from the block "nub" towards the front of the vehicle.
