Is there any downside to rapid cycling of the AC compressor? I believe that some AC systems do not like to be turned on & off rapidly, at least I'm pretty sure I've seen such warnings on home ac units... "Wait at least 3 minutes before turning back on". Or am I thinking of video projector bulbs? :-) On May 27, 2007, at 10:33 AM, John Bange wrote: > Yesterday, while rocketing down the freeway and into somewhat hilly > terrain, > I found myself repeatedly having to reach over to twist the AC > thermostat to > "off" in order to maintain a speed of 75mph when going uphill. > After the > fourth or fifth time, it occurred to me that it would be handy if > the full > throttle enrichment switch would also disengage the AC compressor > clutch.
