Subject:Re: Fw: [VANAGON] Acetone tip - Myth Busted

In the television show "MYTHBUSTERS" (Episode - Exploding Pants), this
was tested. After doing a baseline run with just gasoline, they tested a
500:1 ratio of acetone (1 part acetone to 500 parts gasoline). The
acetone/gasoline mixture lowered the mileage (it was only a couple
percent, but it was lower). I can only imagine that upping the
percentage of acetone would exacerbate that issue, let alone what "Bad
Things" it might do to fuel lines, filters, and whatnot.

Based on the Mythbusters tests, and the fact that acetone is a solvent,
I certainly wouldn't try it.
