Subject:Re: Catastrophic failure of coolant level sensor

Well, Mark I thought I had it fixed. Now it's back. Removed # 43 and it still blinks! so not in the collant level side. Now what, new voltage regulator? new guage? Any way to test these things?

The resistor that is in that ground circut was pretty hot, but i'm assuming that the insessant blinking light could cause this. Any thoughts?

  Thanks for the help
  Steven

I have fixed the blinking on about 20 different Vanagons with probably
10 different causes. A cracked lead in the blue foil is one of them.

Sometimes it can be hard to locate the cause and the trick to tracking
it down is to eliminate possibilities before disassembling a bunch of stuff.
