Have to push on the handle of the 84's sliding door pretty hard to get
the sliding door to unlatch. It's not that the handle is hard to turn,
it's not. It's just that the handle turns a lot before the door unlatches.
I have the inner cover off the door and see what the Bentley's calls the
Bowden tube. Turning the cable's adjusting nut so that the outer sheath
of the tube is all the way forward, and the handle can't unlatch the
door at all. Turning it all the way rearward, and the handle can unlatch
it, but it does require that the handle be pushed nearly all the way to
its stop before the latch releases and forces the door away from the frame.
Is there some other adjustment that can be made to this cable to maybe
shorten it?
