I had the same problem. Some tanks came with an external "autostop"valve which prevents filling the tank more than 80%(safetyno explosions). These valves fail either open or closed. If closed the tank can not be filled. You can no longer get the valve as the company went out of business around 1990. The tank manufacturer "Manchester" told me it"s new tank time. Busdepot has a replacement tank with an internal safety fill valve for around $300. A good deal. You can just switch to a plain filler valve and outage valve (manual safety, stop filling when it starts coming out the outage) but its not US legal. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chavis Three-Sticks" <chavists@MESANETWORKS.NET> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Monday, June 25, 2007 1:30 PM Subject: Propane filler valve. Hello all, In attempting to fill the propane tank Saturday I was told that the valve is struck and would not allow any propane to be put inany ideas, thoughts, or how to, to get it unstuck?
