I recall seeing a setup where engine coolant passed through a copper pipe (coil?) that resided inside a water tank. Not sure of details or efficiency, but I understand that it actually worked. Neil. I came across this link for a heat exchanger that uses the engines coolant to heat water--see: http://www.hotcampshowers.com/new51788.html > > Looks like a pretty nice set up, but is pricey. Seems like a guy could put together a system like this for a lot less, and I figure with the creative input of list members, we can come up with the parts to do just that. The main part seems to be the heat exchanger, but there are lots of them out there. What to use? 12 volts pumps are easy to find + filters, quick connects, shower head sprayers, etc. > > Certainly not a pressing issue for me, but I do like to tinker with van modifications, and thought this might be a fun one to experiment with. > > All comments welcome. > > Troy > -- Neil Nicholson. 1981 Air Cooled Westfalia. http://web.mac.com/tubaneil
