I'm not saying the Xantrez would cause any problems with my laptop--its reputation is why I bought it after the cheap one I had. But my old inverter did ruin 2 power supplies so I am gun shy. I will have to rethink that if I start using my laptop more in the van. >From: Greg Potts <greg@POTTSFAMILY.CA> >Reply-To: Greg Potts <greg@POTTSFAMILY.CA> >To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >Subject: Re: XM 1000 by Xantrex >Date: Tue, 10 Jul 2007 10:21:28 -0400 > >Hi Dave, > >I would suggest you contact Xantrex and ask their people about it, or >else obtain a 12V adapter for the Toshiba. > >I've run a mac laptop off of three different inverters including the >Xantrex 1000, and never had a problem. > > > >Happy Trails, > >Greg Potts >1973/74/77/79 Westfakia "Bob The Tomato >www.pottsfamily.ca >www.busesofthecorn.com > > > >On 8-Jul-07, at 11:52 PM, Dave Vickery wrote: > >>I burned out my Toshiba power supply on a cheap 400/800 Watt inverter. >>Toshiba sent me a new one, and it happened again. >> >>I have a Xantrex 1000 now but I'm afraid to use it for my laptop , >>mostly >>charging batteries, or small power tools. >> >> >>>From: Jim Felder <felder@KNOLOGY.NET> >>>Reply-To: Jim Felder <felder@KNOLOGY.NET> >>>To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >>>Subject: Re: XM 1000 by Xantrex >>>Date: Sat, 7 Jul 2007 21:02:42 -0500 >>> >>>I have run a powerbook off of every kind of inverter in existence for >>>years, cheap ones and good ones.
