Hi John,

I can't believe I found an answer, but google says on this page:
http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:5QSl9ytg-bUJ:www.wcha.org/wcj/
index/Subjects.pdf+%22orange+crate+canoe%

that the article you are looking for was in "Wooden Canoe Journal"
issue #48.

Googling "Wooden Canoe Journal" gave me this page:
http://www.wcha.org/wcj/index/index.html

Where you can join the organization and order reprints of past articles.

Good luck!!!

Happy Trails,
