RE: Brakes
The last message said "All vanagons have anti-lock brakes".  I hope this was
tongue-in-cheek  If you meant ABS then according to sources on this list ABS
was available on a limited basis in Europe but not in the US.

In another message the statement was made that 80% of the braking was at the
front wheels.  I've always understood that it was more like 70% on most
vehicles.  But, again according to some of the more knowledgeable heads on
this list, that is not true with the Vanagon, more like 60% front.
