They squeak on mine too. I found that if I hold the plastic bug screen off
the glass it is silent. So that suggests if you want to take the bug screen
off and trim it back a hair it would shut it up for good.

When someone opens the sliding windows on my westy it sounds like
fingernails on a blackboard. I've used silcone spray with no luck. Anybody
fix this problem?
