There are heavy duty Cigar Lighter plugs and if you replace the 16
gauge wires then carrying larger (15 -20 amps) currents is limited
solely by your OEM cigar lighter fuse.
        After-all.. the automobile industry already sell many
'socket' accessories drawing significant amperage. (coffee
percolators - chargers - hair dryers - air pumps)
        These are also very clear visual indicators of system integrity.
