I was able to order a new OE gasket at RV World her in Fredericton.  I
think it was about $6.  That cover plate was not completely flat so I
used Loctite Ultra Copper Hi-Temp RTV sealant to get a good seal.  I
read that you can also use a transport truck inner tube to cut a gasket
from as they can handle the high temps.
