Our esteemed governator is spelt Ahnold like he pronounces it. But don't get me started on rocks and locks. Is this an Whoregon policy only? State stuff? or is it the Feds agin? There was a NF fee system being tried out some years (3) ago wonder if it's the same thing. I'll check. I noticed that my parking was free with my "geezer pass" and my campsite fees were half off. Only 10bux for the pass with proper credentials (62 years on the clock) and it's lifetime deal. Do YOU qualify? Go gitchaself one! Best ten bux you'll spend in the next fifty years or so. Have em put it in your coffin or pyre when you depart (non transferable). At least get a parks pass now $80 BUX egad! but good for a year. Thats only four visits to Yosemite, Jellystone and others. http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/mbs/passes/ http://www.fs.fed.us/passespermits/senior.shtml http://www.fs.fed.us/passespermits/about-rec-fees.shtml#standard The 'geezer pass' is the old Golden Age passport. Now extinct. However I have one squirreled away in Bessie the Charolais Camper (Syncro SVX) (RVC) and use it often. For twenty years I bought Golden Eagle passes every year, thought the advantages far outweighed the original $20 cost when it brought FREE not half-off camping. No 'parking' fees or 'day use fees' for ordinary places then. Sadly all gone by. Now we support mumblers with tea towels who take August off for $10B a month while the west is on fire and USFS (branch of Department of Agriculture) goes beggin' for qualified personnel and capital equipment like fire trucks, slurry bombers, caterpillars, water trucks, chain saws, helicopters...Dude! Where's my Country? BLM 'this land is your land' no longer fee free either. Al NF dispersed camper, ruffledgrouch, G.O.M.E.R, MAAGie RVN-Laos 61-63, viejo pescador jubilado, Proud Geezer Pass User. etc etc.
