I guess they figure that if the government had to build and maintain their own reservations system then ALL the taxpayers, campers or not, would be paying the fee. Not to mention hiring park personnel to take your money on check-in. This way only the user pays the fee. $9 does seem a bit high, especially if you stay only one night. Clever AND since it's the only game in town it's a gummint sponsored monopoly. I hate it when they do that. Not likely this stuff will go away easily. So to camp in a FEE'd campsite in the Parks you have to pay not only the campsite fee but a NON-REFUNDABLE reservation fee. For Jellystone it's 25$ to get in, 16$ for the first night and 9$ skimmed off your wallet to some clever outfit. Hmmm, that's $50 for the first night, no HBO, no wifi, no free Coffee, no clean as a whistle shower no fresh towels, french milled soap...Makes Motel 6 look pretty good, discounting the location of course. But then it wouldn't be camping in the 'wilderness'. --------------------------------- Luggage? GPS? Comic books? Check out fitting gifts for grads at Yahoo! Search.
